Sail is a Chinese manufacturer and has been producing outboard motors since 2003. This motor is moduled after the very trusted Tohatsu motor. Tohatsu produces motors for Mercury and Suzuki. Short shaft (long shaft can be specially ordered). See spec sheet. Sail manufactures 50.000 motors per year. All motors are water tested before they are sent out of the factory.
